Treasure Island (aka Pieces of Eight) (1985)

Opened at The Citadel Theatre
Opened: November 27, 1985
Closed: January 5, 1986
When English lad Jim Hawkins finds himself in possession of a treasure map, he is launched on one of the great adventures of all time. Robert Louis Stevenson's novel of 18th century adventure on the high seas is filled with danger and heroism, and some of the most colorful characters in all literature, including peg-legged pirate Long John Silver. The stage adaptation is buoyed by the bright lyrics of Susan Birkenhead and the music of Jule Styne. The treasure is found, virtue triumphs, and a rollicking good time has been had by all (except, of course, some undeserving pirates).
