Broadway

High Button Shoes (1947)

Opened at New Century Theatre
Opened: October 9, 1947
Closed: July 2, 1949
When fast-talking conman Harrison Floy sets his sights on the quiet Longstreet family of suburban New Jersey, he sets in motion a series of comic misadventures, including dubious auto sales, bogus land schemes, and illegal football wagering. What better foundation for a bright summertime lark in 1912?

The nostalgic but energetic score includes, "I Still Get Jealous," "Papa, Won't You Dance With Me?" and the legendary "Keystone Cops Ballet" - considered one of the funniest sequences ever choreographed for Broadway.
